“Oh good! Something you can’t kill!”
-my husband, when I proudly presented my new cactus.

Thanks, babe… (but he’s right. I can’t keep a plant alive).

I feel so accomplished this week! I checked something off my spring knit list AND made an adorable faux plant for my little cubicle. This pattern is Quick & Easy Cacti by Lucille Randall, and it’s on Ravelry for free! I’ve only made the small round one so far, but I’m already dying to knit the other two. The yarn is Stylecraft Special DK in Meadow. The tiny terracotta pot, fiber fill & straight pins came from Michael’s, and the whole project came in under $10 (using coupons… the fiber fill & pins were the most expensive part).

The good news is that I have enough materials left to make at least 10 more cacti, so I may soon have a whole (fake) succulent garden!

What did you knit this week?
I’d love to see it on Instagram using #52weeksofknits 🙂

Warmest Wishes xoxo,

  1. Hello,
Great job ! Your cactus is beautiful ! I am going to be making this project as well and I was wondering what size of mini flower pot to buy. How big is yours ?

    Thank you !
